After the game, the caps will be authenticated and autographed by players and coaches to be auctioned off by Cardinals Care online at cardinals.com.

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Cardinals will honor the victims of the Florida school shooting in their first spring training game on Friday.

The Cardinals announced players and coaches will wear the caps of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles baseball team during their first spring training game against the Miami Marlins Friday afternoon.

“We were all horrified and heartbroken by what happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last week,” said Cardinals Vice President of Community Relations and Cardinals Care Executive Director, Michael Hall. “Today we join the rest of Major League Baseball in doing our small part to help those affected by this terrible tragedy.”

After the game, the caps will be authenticated and autographed by players and coaches to be auctioned off by Cardinals Care online at cardinals.com.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit Broward Education Foundation, which was established as the official Stoneman Double Victims Fund to support the victims and families of the horrific shooting.

All 30 teams playing Friday will wear the caps.
